Gretchen: So, the Wug Test was a test that was created in, I think it was 1958, by Jean Berko Gleason, who was actually an undergrad at the time? Lauren: You have passed what is known as the Wug Test. Lauren: You are as capable as a three-year-old, congratulations. And then if I present you with an illustration that has two of these little blue things, we have two…? Gretchen: We also have to pretend that I’m about three years old, just for perspective. Lauren: It’s a cute, little, blue, boopy, bird-like thing. And I’m presenting her with a thing she has never seen before and I say, “Gretchen, this is called a wug.” Lauren: So we have a picture on the website, you can see it as I’m presenting this picture to Gretchen.
